Cornicularia divergens (Ach.)
Bryocaulon divergens (Ach.) Kärnefel

Known commonly as Heath Foxhair Lichen in English and Bryocaule divergent in French, Swales encountered this member of the Parmeliaceae family while travelling across the Côte-Nord region of Quebec in July 1966. On the voucher, Swales noted that the lichen she encountered in a 'damp hollow' on the 'top of a rocky hill' was uncommon.

As the English common name suggests, Heath Foxhair Lichen is known to grow in large mats across heath tundras in the arctic.
